Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to examine the studies conducted on the leadership behaviours of school principals in Turkey between 2011-2021 by thematic content analysis method. In line with the themes determined for the research, the studies published on the leadership behaviours of school principals were examined and an analysis was made in terms of various variables. A total of 50 studies published between 2011-2021 were included in the study. In order to carry out thematic content analysis in the study, a matrix that allows the studies to be classified and analysed was used. In the study, it was found that the researches on the leadership behaviours of school principals in Turkey showed an increasing trend over the years, the most common type of leadership was instructional leadership, most of the articles were published in the journal Education and Science, and most of the studies had two authors when the number of authors was examined. In further studies, it is suggested that master's and doctoral thesis studies can be examined and articles written before 2011 and after 2022 can be included in the scope of the research and national and international journals can also be examined.
