Abstract

Management forms that are far from the modern understanding cannot adapt to the conditions of the globalized world. For this reason, the way to adapt to increasing competitive conditions, growing markets, and change is through new forms of management that can adapt to and manage change. Process management, which is one of these new forms of management, gives enterprises the ability to survive against changing conditions and to increase their competitiveness.

This study aims to identify the problems when enabling process management experienced by SMEs in the automotive supply industry in Bursa and to present solutions to these problems. Within the scope of the study, a survey was conducted on 212 out of 474 SMEs in the automotive supply industry in Bursa, regarding characteristics, process structures, and process based studies. The findings resulting from the study were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and F-test. As a result of the analysis, issues were identified during process management activation studies, primarily including the persistence of old work habits and problems related to training and motivation deficiencies. Additionally, it was determined that relationships among these problems are positive and statistically significant. Suggestions for solving these issues have also been provided.
